What are some of the benefits of yoga?

Yoga increases flexibility, stamina, builds strength and improves posture. Most people find increased levels of energy and an enhanced feeling of wellbeing. Regular practice of yoga increases awareness and inner peace.

Do I need to bring a mat?

You are welcome to bring a mat if you have your own, otherwise the studio is equipped with mats and props which you are welcome to borrow.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable, which allows you to move around freely such as leggings and a t-shirt and maybe an extra layer to keep you warm during your class relaxation time. Yoga is practiced barefoot, so just leave your shoes and socks at the door when you arrive.

Can I get changed at the studio?

We don’t have a changing room, but there is a small toilet where you are welcome to change.

How often should I attend classes?

Come at least once per week to feel the benefits, although practicing more frequently will enable you to enhance your practice more quickly. Yoga PASSPORTS are available offering great discounts, perfect for Yogis wishing to maintain a regular practice.

Do I need to book?

Most of our daytime classes are drop-in (always check Facebook for up-to-date timetable). Evening classes are run as blocks, the spaces for these are limited so please book in advance to secure your place.

If its your first visit to BREATHE,

Please come along 10 minutes early to allow time to register with Yoga Jojo. BREATHE Yoga & Wellness Studio is on Elcho Street, a one way residential street. There is quite often on street parking or around the corner in Cross Street. Please be mindful of the residents when accessing the studio.

How busy will the class be?

For classes which are drop-in we don't know for sure how many people will attend a particular class, however classes at BREATHE are limited to 10 students ensuring a comfortable and personal practice. If you prefer a 1-1 session these are available with Yogajojo, please get in touch with Jojo for more details.

I suffer from stress and anxiety, could you suggest a class for me?

It's very common for people to start yoga with stress and anxiety and a yoga practice can be very helpful. We would recommend you start with the Yoga Beginner's Toolbox our 6 Week yoga course. If you want to get started straight away you can come to any of our beginner level classes on the timetable, for example our Slow & Gentle Yoga for absolute beginners, Thursdays at 11am.

I have an injury or health condition - can I still do yoga?

Yoga is accessible for everyone, but not all yoga classes or yoga poses are suitable for all. Poses can be modified to individual needs, but some classes are more dynamic than others. Please contact me if you have any concerns, so together we can find the right class for you. If you have an injury or ongoing health condition, you may want to check with your doctor before beginning a yoga class.

Is it ok to eat before a yoga class?

It is advised that you don’t eat a large meal 2 – 3 hours before class, but of course be sensitive to your needs and the timing of the class. If you need to eat a light snack an hour or so beforehand this is fine.
